Exalted Verse: Poets at Grace Cathedral

Litquake returns to Grace Cathedral for a special evening of exalted verse from a sterling lineup of poets, as part of their 2018 annual festival. One of the West Coast’s most beloved annual literary festivals, this smart, eclectic ten-day gathering draws booklovers of all types to enjoy words and ideas straight from the artists’ mouths. Line-up of poets include:
Shauna Hannibal is the author of Hannibal (Forklift Books, 2017), her debut collection of poetry. She has an MFA from Warren Wilson. She works at the UCSF Library and lives near Golden Gate Park.
Charif Shanahan is the author of Into Each Room We Enter without Knowing (Crab Orchard Series in Poetry/SIU Press, 2017), a finalist for the Lambda Literary and Thom Gunn Awards for Gay Poetry. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow, he is a Jones Lecturer in Poetry at Stanford University.
Monica Sok is the author of Year Zero (Poetry Society of America, 2016) and has been awarded with fellowships from Kundiman, NEA and a “Discovery”/ Boston Review Poetry Prize. She is a 2018–2020 Stegner Fellow at Stanford University.
