Grace Church was reduced to cinders one hundred years ago after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fires. Out of tragedy came enormous generosity. The Crocker Family donated land and money to build a cathedral. Through generations of support from parishioners, philanthropists and dedicated friends, Grace Cathedral stands today as an international symbol of generous Christianity and community achievement.
By making a financial commitment to Grace Cathedral's Endowment you will facilitate the cathedral's vision to be a welcoming and inclusive place for worship and civic conversation. Your endowment gift will provide the financial foundation for inspiring worship through liturgy, preaching, and music. A gift to the endowment will provide for strong education programs and civic conversation; will increase service to the community and make a difference in the lives of others; and to provide traditional and innovative opportunities for people to further their spiritual journey and personal growth.
Your financial commitment will have a large impact beyond its dollar value. It will serve as an affirmation of Grace Cathedral's principles, help attract and motivate additional people to give. It will also signal to our larger community that Grace Cathedral is worthy of investment by those who believe this is a sacred place that lends dignity to spiritual life, and is also a significant San Francisco landmark filled with people working to transform the city and the Bay Area.
