Grace Cathedral is home to a community where the best of Episcopal Christian tradition courageously embraces innovation and open-minded conversation, where inclusion is expected and people of all faiths are welcomed, where beliefs are put into action and where people are encouraged to seek God and progress on their own spiritual journey. The cathedral serves as a gathering place for a world that seems to be in crisis - a place where diverse people come to seek solace, converse, learn and celebrate.
Grace Church was reduced to cinders one hundred years ago after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fires. Out of tragedy came enormous generosity. The Crocker Family donated land and money to build a cathedral. Through generations of support from parishioners, philanthropists and dedicated friends, Grace Cathedral stands today as an international symbol of generous Christianity and community achievement.
By making a financial commitment to Grace Cathedral's Endowment Campaign you will facilitate the cathedral's vision to further worship through liturgy, preaching, education, music and civic conversation; to increase service to the community and make a difference in the lives of others; and to provide traditional and innovative opportunities for people to further their spiritual journey and personal growth.
Your financial commitment will have a large impact beyond its dollar value. It will serve as an affirmation of Grace Cathedral's principles, help attract and motivate additional people to give and to create important momentum for support. It will also signal to our larger community that Grace Cathedral is worthy of investment by those who believe this is a sacred place that lends dignity to spiritual life, and is also a significant San Francisco landmark.

Grace Cathedral has two musical treasures - the Choir of Men and Boys and the 123-rank, 7,466 piped Aeolian-Skinner organ. The acoustics in our architecturally beautiful building do not meet the needs of our worship services and concerts. The deteriorating roofs over the organ chambers offer us a chance to work on all of this in a single major $4 million project. While the roofs are being repaired and the organ pipes are partially removed for protection, we can make repairs and enhancements to the organ and also address the acoustic issues for music by the choir. Help preserve the unique splendor of the Aeolian-Skinner Organ and enhancing the music experience at Grace Cathedral for years to come.
