About the Program:

In the 1990’s, Barbara Brown Taylor was named one of the twelve most effective preachers in the English-speaking world as reported in Newsweek magazine. Pastoring her own church was a dream come true for Barbara, but the reality was something different. In her new literary memoir, Leaving Church , Taylor offers her own personal reflections on the struggle between the church she serves and her relationship with God. In the process, she demystifies clergy life, offering a look at "compassion fatigue," and gives us a glimpse into the early days of the growing battle in the Episcopal Church over human sexuality.
