About the Program:

Khaled Hosseini was born in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1965 and then came to Northern California in the 1980's when his family was granted political asylum. His first novel, The Kite Runner, is the first written by an Afghan in America. It presents a look into the sociopolitical climate in Afghanistan and the Afghan community in Northern California. See Afghanistan through the eyes of a native, and hear the stories that come from this ancient culture.
