What is the labyrinth? The Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress, director of Veriditas: The Worldwide Labyrinth Project, joins
psychotherapist Dr. Frances Vaughn and The Very Rev. Alan Jones to discuss the meaning and history of the labyrinth's
medieval design. A profound meditation tool, a metaphor for the spiritual path, a feminist Christian icon, a symbol of Mary
or even all Christianity, even perhaps an almost cult-like centerpiece of a movement--the labyrinth is, most everyone can
agree, a powerful inspiration. Originating in a design on the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France, the labyrinth has taken
hold in recent years as people across the world are building their own labyrinths. The labyrinth is at the center of a
growing interest in spiritual practice and regeneration.
