The risen Christ (speaking as the Good Shepherd) asks Peter to look after the faithful [S. John XXI.17]- ("Feed my sheep.") Peter kneels before him, protesting his love. Symbolic sheep are at right. The medallion was incorrectly placed and should have been switched with small medallion 1.
