Mary, Martha's sister, anoints Jesus' feet (S. John XII.3:
"... Mary ... anointed the [feet of Jesus]").
Mary's act of hospitality, using perfume and her own hair, alludes to
Jesus' death and the anointing of his corpse. Jesus berates Judas for
complaining of the perfume's expense (S. John XII.7).
