Easter Vigil Grace Cathedral Liturgical Theater Project

COSTUMES One of our actors had been the driving force behind the liturgical theater project at Grace Cathedral and had a stock of "biblical robes." (She notes on Casting.) These would be used for Israel's Deliverance at the Red Sea. My concept for A New Heart, which had unseen hands creating a transcendent moment for two everyday people, needed two beige raincoats, which were gladly provided by the two actors involved. (See notes on Actors and food, re: gratitude and willingness.) Since simplicity was the idiom for the whole endeavor, I dressed the actors in black (their own clothes, see ibid.), and left it at that.
