The chapel baptistry (left) was in use until the main cathedral font was installed in the nave in 1964. A caverous vault rises over the adjacent porch. The wrought-iron gates of the chapel (1934) were crafted to Hobart's design by Samuel Yellin, America's master of decorative ironwork.
