Interior of Nave, Grace Cathedral, San Francisco (15 1/8" x 19 1/4")

Adams made this mid-day photograph from the roof of the nave's temporary rear exit vestibule. The straight-on west-facing shot emphasizes the vastness of the cathedral interior. (Grace Cathedral faces west, not the traditional east.) Many of the furnishings were recycled from the earlier Founders Crypt. The central sanctuary was built in 1964. The nave vaulting ceiling remains unfinished.
