On Gay Pride Day and the 40th anniversary of the so-called Stonewall Riots in New York City, which spawned the gay rights movement, Jesus' words to a devastated Jairus, who feared his daughter was dead, ring just as true today as we celebrate the progress that has been made, but also realize there is far to go for GLBT people to be fully human, fully equal, as God intends all of us to be.
