Members of the Guild of the Transfiguration participate in all worship
services. Acolytes carry the cross, torches, and banners in procession
and assist the ordained ministers at the altar. Ceremonial vergers
escort the processions and lay out and put away the vestments. Training
is required and is offered twice a year. The guild encourages aspiring
members to be familiar with Episcopal liturgy or to reside in the
congregation for at least one year.

The members of the Guild of St. Chrysostom read the Old and New
Testament lessons during regular services, and other special readings
such as the Passion Gospel during Holy Week. A strong, articulate voice
is required. Auditions are conducted periodically during the year.

The Altar Guild is responsible for preparation and maintenance of all of
the altar linens and vessels. On a monthly rotation, members spend
several hours laundering and ironing linens, polishing silver, and
setting up for the weekly services. Responsible, organized, and
detail-oriented people with a knowledge of liturgical protocol are
preferred. Aspirants serve an apprenticeship before becoming members.
