Kate Cooper (left) is Professor of Ancient History at the University of Manchester and one of the leading historians In Britain writing about early Christian women. She is the author of Band of Angels: The Forgotten World of Early Christian Women (Overlook Press, forthcoming in 2013), as well as of The Virgin and the Bride: Idealized Womanhood in Late Antiquity (Harvard University Press) and The Fall of the Roman Household (Cambridge University Press). She has been involved with a number of BBC broadcasts in the area of early Christianity and writes for the BBC website, along with a blog which can be found at kateantiquity.com. The Rev. Dr. Rebecca Lyman (right) is the Samuel Garrett Professor of Church History emerita at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Berkeley, California. Dr. Lyman has a B.A. in Religion and History from Western Michigan University, an M.A. in Medieval and Byzantine Studies from The Catholic University of America, and a Ph.D. in Theology from Oxford University. She is an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of California, associated with St. Mark’s, Palo Alto.
