Ring in the New Year with Grace Cathedral's annual silent film screening on December 31 at 7 and 10 p.m. Dorothy Papadakos returns to Grace Cathedral to accompany The Hunchback of Notre Dame on the cathedral's magnificent 7,466 pipe Aeolian-Skinner organ. Released in 1923, Hunchback stars Lon Chaney, "the man of a thousand faces." The film runs for 110 minutes.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.
Tickets will be available at the door one hour before each show time.
About the guest organist
Dorothy Papadakos came to international attention as organist of the world’s largest gothic cathedral, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC from 1990-2003. Ms. Papadakos is a member of the 6-time Grammy Award-winning Paul Winter Consort, internationally renowned for its environmental action through music. She is celebrated for her daring & imaginative organ improvisations and compositions for theatre, film, TV & ballet, and is popular for her rave review, sold out silent film accompaniments. Her new musical BACCHUS broke box office records in its acclaimed world premiere in Wilmington, NC.
