Mary Ann Brussat says that if you follow her guidelines on experiencing and judging a movie, you'll leave the cinema inspired, and better connected to the human family. And she isn't talking about such standards as The 10 Commandments or The Passion of the Christ. Brussat finds God in films like American Beauty, West Beirut, and Finding Neverland.
Mary Ann Brussat, author of Spiritual Rx: Prescriptions for Living a Meaningful Life (Hyperion, 2000), shows how to use contemporary resources to enhance spiritual practices. She and her huband have been covering contemporary culture and the spiritual renaissance for three decades. They founded and codirect Cultural Information Service, a nonprofit organization.
