The Office of Communications of Grace Cathedral

The Office of Communications of Grace Cathedral uses emerging communications technologies to encourage spiritual growth, foster understanding of spiritual diversity, encourage reconciliation between religious traditions, and support the civic conversation on social and spiritual issues. As an outreach of Grace Cathedral, we provide a public service through a variety of programming on civil discourse, shared personal narrative, and spiritual formation. We strive to advocate and support the civic conversation.

The Forum

The Forum at Grace Cathedral presents engaging and thought-provoking topics featuring well-known personalities and scholars who are making positive contributions to society. It is a unique, long-standing public affairs talk show that brings people and ideas together on a community level.

The Forum is moderated by the Very Rev. Alan Jones, Dean of Grace Cathedral and is open to the public free of charge on Sunday mornings from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. People can attend The Forum onsite at Grace Cathedral or tune in to the live audio webcast or archived recordings at www.GraceCathedral.org/forum.

On Television - Light Works

LightWorks was a monthly public affairs program that addressed cultural and social issues from a perspective of values, spirituality, and faith. It was produced by The Office of Communications of Grace Cathedral and hosted by Canon Rick Johnson. Light Works aired on KRON TV Channel 4 the first Sunday of the month at 6:30 AM. The program is available at GraceCathedral.org for viewing. Log on to GraceCathedral.org for a schedule of upcoming Light Works programs.

Film and Video Production

Telly Award Winner

Grace Cathedral's state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and staff expertise, offers full-service production capabilities. Our recent accomplishments include the 2003 Emmy-nominated documentary Rediscovering the Labyrinth: A Walking Meditation, award-winning Diocese of California television ad campaign The Episcopal Church Welcomes You, The Regeneration Project's Lighten Up!, as well as many internal projects for Grace Cathedral and the Episcopal Church.

Publicity

The Office of Communications presents Grace Cathedral to a local and global audience through a variety of outreach efforts, including: media relations, marketing, public relations, online marketing and more. In trying to maximize Grace Cathedral's exposure to the outside world, the publicity department is fundamental in getting the word out.
