First set of panels open, center panel The central panel depicts Vuyisile Funda (right center), a local character known as Gaba –- the Xhosa word for "prophet." He wears a dress in the panel -– a sign of solidarity with the village's women. Gaba is joined in the center panel by a local choir (left center), representing the spiritual life of the community and the significant role played by music in worship.
